Frequently Asked Questions

FTP INFORMATION
ANSWERS
  1. Can I upload the files manually?
Yes. You'll need to upload the following files into the same directory where ever you defined the paths in the FTP area of MWT.
Here’s the files you will need to upload:

    C:/program files/my website talks/MWT/yourfilename.txt

    C:/program files/my website talks/MWT/yourfilename.SWF

    C:/program files/my website talks/MWT/yourfilename.html

    C:/program files/my website talks/MWT/yourfilename_email.html

all these file must be in the same directory as defined in the Player Code in your hTML page. If your player does not appear on your page, this means the paths you've defined in the software and the path where you 've uploaded files is not consistant.

  2. FTP is not working, why?
We placed several error messages in the FTP area of the software that will prompt you, and let you know which setting you have entered incorrectly. There are three areas you need to double check: (a) FTP login location; typically this would be: yourdomain.com or ftp.yourdomain.com, but it can vary depending on your hosting provider, ask your host for your FTP login information. (b) User name (case sensitive) (c) Password (case sensitive) (d) Path to public documents directory; typically this would be something like /www or "/", or try leaving this blank to publish to your root directory. It can vary depending on your hosting provider, you should experiment, try removing a slash before and/or after the path. Try varients of the path like:

    /www/htdocs

    usr/home/www

    usr/home/www/

    /usr/home/www

Try FTPing in with your FTP program and look at the path structure on your server, this is the best method to identify your true path. Ask your host for your FTP login information. If you can login with a 3rd party FTP program, then you will be able to upload with MWT software.

  3. I keep getting an error "FTP server not Ready"!
Your host may limit the number of FTP connections permitted to their server. Try closing the software, re-start the software and try again.
